Armageddon Ready?

George W. Bush's 2005 Inaugural Speech starts with a reference to Armageddon: ... and then there came a day of fire. Bush mentions "God" 4 times, Jesus 3 times, and has 13 biblical references.

" President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God.

'God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan'.'

"And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq...' And I did.

Secretary of State Rice's response to the disaster in New Orleans was:

"The Lord Jesus Christ is going to come on time." She added: "If we just wait."

"On time"? How does Rice know the exact time Armageddon starts? “If we just wait”? That means in her, that is our, lifetime!

"At Church one day [Tom DeLay, House Majority Leader] listened as the pastor declared that  'the war between America and Iraq is the gateway to the Apocalypse.'  DeLay rose to speak, not only to the congregation but to 225 Christian TV and radio stations.  'Ladies and gentlemen,' he said, 'what has been spoken here tonight is the truth of God.'"

Religious fanatics control the White House, Secretariat of State, House of Representatives, Senate, key military positions, Justice Department, and “god knows” how many other key positions in our government.

So what happens when Christ comes? Heaven on earth! But just before there is Hell on earth: Armageddon and “The Rapture”.

“The Rapture” is an insane belief that as Christ is about to end the world, he pulls straight to heaven all Christians and 160,000 Jews who convert at the last minute. The rest of us get eaten by monsters, die dreadfully of disease, and/or burn in hell for eternity. Because these nuts believe this, they do not care about the earth or the future – since in their demented minds there is no future! A recent German TV documentary showed Bush's Rapture supporters in drug like trances, chanting and swaying as they prayed for the end of the world. They have a 30 foot tall tile mosaic of Bush with a hallo, representing him as a saint, if not Christ. Many say that he is Christ.

Bush attends regular, large donation fund raisers where they treat him like Christ. He or a key member of his staff meets with them EVERY week, if not more often. He tells them he believes in "The Rapture".

People ask me if Bush is just faking his born-again belief in the Rapture to gain support and donations. All of his actions support the conclusion that he believes the end of the world is coming. He appointed a General to Iraq who publicly said it was a “crusade”. His environmental and energy policies are pushing the world to a physical catastrophe. His inactions on Katrina show complete indifference to massive destruction and death, even among Americans. His joking and laughter in a “cocktail party atmosphere” and then refusal to meet the mothers and children of our sacrificed soldiers lays bare his detachment from reality. Obviously, the suffering in Palestine , Iraq , Africa, Asia , etc., all show how other nations and beliefs mean nothing to him. On camera he has spoken about massive suffering and death and then bragged about his golf swing in the same breath.

But will he use nuclear weapons or worse push the button? (Please note that our government calls it a "football"! This is not Bush's baseball team, which also did poorly. It should have a serious, fearful name like "Armageddon" or "Gates of Hell".)

VISE President Cheney ordered our military to draw up plans to use nuclear weapons in Iran when “another 9/11 type incident” occurs. The military has definitely discussed, and allegedly has given, regional commanders the authority to use nuclear weapons if necessary. In every war game where nuclear weapons are an option, the losing side always uses them. Always.

Bush has cut security at our nations ports and nuclear power plants leaving them open to attack. He provokes Iran and North Korea , and indirectly Russia , over their having nuclear weapons while he brandishes them and asks of small, usable in regional conflicts nuclear bombs. Putin is unhappy with having the US military on Russia's doorstep and is warning Bush almost daily to quit meddling in Russia 's internal affairs, and objective reports indicate that the CIA is meddling in Russia's internal affairs.

Bush diverted money from real disaster prevention needs like the levies which everyone knew were absolutely necessary in New Orleans. He and Alan Greenspan have been accused by “The Economist” of being "lunatics running the asylum" of trying to destroy Social Security, Medicaid, all forms of welfare by destroying the US economy so we cannot “afford” them. CBS Marketwatch New said Bush “has lost his marbles”.

Bush, Delay, and the whole Republican command structure (you cannot call it leadership) have promised, actually passed a resolution, that they will not start the draft. We do not have enough soldiers to protect the south, let alone continue the occupation of the Middle East (we are in many countries there, including our proxy Israel, though I probably have the Israel relationship reversed). Our colonels and master sergeants are retiring rather than be spent on back to back tours away from their families in a hopeless, hated, honorless occupation. Almost no one is enlisting. Bush must start the draft. He must have another 9/11 type catastrophe to justify his breaking his promise.

Our economy did recover a little, a lot if you are rich, but the job market remains grim since workers are losing purchasing power as Corporate Robber Barons get 54% pay increases. His job approval on October 3, 2005 was 37%, a historic low for any US President at any point in any administration.

And now comes his inaction over Katrina. Every major newspaper has scorned him. The incredible extent of unnecessary suffering from his incompetence will clog the media for months. Even the Republicans are blaming him. Only 38% support him. Only 35% support the war.

He is in a corner. Bush's professor at Yale wrote that Bush never admitted he was wrong. He would lie, deny, intimidate, and twist things to win. While being titular head of a baseball team, he displayed his standard approach of never, ever letting anyone else win or admitting that he had lost. “Win at all costs” was his motto. He destroyed the State of Texas government budget while claiming his great leadership.

Unlike all the commanders in all their military war games, he has real nuclear weapons. Anyone with a bit of brains knows that some group behind him are the real terrorists of 9/11 (rubble cannot crash through concrete and steel at the same speed as it does through the air – 8.4 seconds for a 100 story building – only explosives planted by professionals, not incompetents like the accused hijackers, can do this).

His character, passed actions, associates make the famous quote apply: “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.” Therefore I dreadfully expect another 9/11 incident before Christmas. Furthermore, I expect that that faked terrorism event will go terribly wrong for him. I dread that in despair he will fully accept his born-again and Rapture insanity and start a nuclear conflict, Armageddon, if he has not planned to do so already. Watch the movie, "The Downfall", about Hitler's last days. Hitler was a religious fanatic too. He believed the Germans were the Aryan Race. Hitler committed suicide as he destroyed Germany. When asked about the future generations of Germans as they sent out the Hitler Youth (under 18) to be slaughtered in the massacre that was the fall of Berlin, both Hitler's and Goebbels' dying comments were the same.said, "The German people do not deserve to survive [since we are losing]!"
